Lautari is a therapeutic community founded in Brescia in 1992, specializing in the rehabilitation of people with alcohol and drug dependencies. Recognized by the Lombardy Region and certified by the ASL of Brescia, Lautari operates with a humanistic and educational approach, placing the individual at the center of a rehabilitation program that can last from 3 to 5 years. The facility hosts dozens of residents on a permanent basis and welcomes daily visits from family members, external professionals, volunteers, and institutional representatives.
A therapeutic community is not just any place. Who enters, when they enter, and how long they stay are pieces of information that have a direct impact on the well-being of the residents and the stability of the therapeutic process.
Lautari was managing this complexity with manual tools:
1. No structured traceability of access: Visit management lacked a centralized and easily consultable system. When needed—such as during an institutional audit or an internal review—reconstructing who was present at a specific time required time and left room for errors.
2. Non-standardized reception: Visits from family members, volunteers, and external partners took place without a defined process. This led to inconsistencies in the welcome experience and added workload for staff already engaged in therapeutic activities.

We implemented Check-Ai as a centralized system for managing access, tailoring it to the specific needs of a therapeutic environment where discretion and order are top priorities.

“Check-Ai has allowed us to bring order to something we had always managed from memory and on paper. Today, we know exactly who is in the facility at any given time, and our staff can devote more energy to people, not bureaucracy.” — Lautari Coordinator
Digital check-in at the entrance: Every visitor—family member, volunteer, external professional, or institutional representative—completes a quick check-in via QR code or a fixed station, recording their name, reason for the visit, and time of entry.
Cloud-based visitor database: All data is stored securely and accessible only to authorized staff, with full compliance with privacy regulations. At any time, it is possible to know who is currently in the facility, who has visited, and how frequently.
Automatic or manual check-out: At the end of the visit, the system records the exit and automatically calculates the duration of the stay. Staff can also manage check-out remotely, without needing to be physically present at the entrance.
Customized landing page: Upon arrival, visitors are welcomed into a digital environment aligned with the community’s values—simple, welcoming, and professional—which can include practical information, visit guidelines, or messages from the team.
